About Us

Joe Simon, known as Apple Joe started planting apple trees in 1961 as a hobby as a agricultural and science teacher. After retiring from teaching of forty years, in 1972 he started selling his apples to the public. At the time he had twenty different varieties and twelve-hundred trees that covered twenty-three acres of land. In 1972, he started pressing his own apple cider cider by using five different varieties and a few extra varieties. Apples and apple cider became his bench mark on is legacy. Simon's Apple Orchard, Joe Simon's legacy, is now ran by his son Joe, and his wife Diana, and his grandson Justin, who are adding more varieties to the orchard are doing what Joe Simon loved doing best, harvesting apples and selling to the public. Our faily will always live on and in Joe Simon's legacy.

Cider

Our apple cider dates back to 1972, when Joe Simon cae up with his famous recipe. We use five base varieties of apples and a few extras. Each of the five apples add sweetness, tartness and the color. Our apple cider is not pasturized, meaning we add no preservatives or flavors, just straight apple juice. We fresh squeeze our cider two to three times a week. There was a quote in a newsarticle about Joe Simon in 1991 saying " I have the best cider", he said. And our custoers couldnt agree more!

Our cider is available from Mid-September through Mid-December in quarts, half and whole gallons.

Our Process

All of our apples are hand picked, sorted by size and quality.

We store them at 35°F in 3, 5, and 10lb clear plastic bags.

Our apple season starts in early April with pruning and the spraying for pests. We do this every year to provide consistancy and greater quality for our apples
